Hey. I want to have opie as my primary OS. is it possible somehow to make the palm boot Opie by default instead of palm os? Also...if that doesn't work, I could boot it and leave it like that all the time(even if it does waste battery). but I can't find a way to always work to bring it out of standby. It freezes most of the time...although...it does work sometimes. Please don't ask me why I want to make Opie my primary OS. I know palm os is great but it doesn't offer as many features.

Well, if you have a
Well, if you have a Lifedrive, it is possible, and I'm working on it. For some other palms, people have flashed their ROMs to boot linux instead of POS, but I think only one Palm is setup for that.
What type of Palm do you have?
I have a TX. I would owe you

So nobody knows how to flash my palm Tx's ROM so it boots opie or some other OS like openmoko? If that is not possible...I could live with booting opie once from palm os...but how can I keep it in a standby mode without my palm freezing when resuming. This way I could have it constantly on.
Maybe it can be flashed, be
Maybe it can be flashed, be nobody tried it cause it's dangerous. You can setup your TX in that way that it would boot into Linux after reset. I don't understand your last sentence - you want to prevent your palm from suspending or you've got problems with waking it up?
No. I said that I could keep
No. I said that I could keep Opie booted. And when I am not using it...I could just make it suspend. But everytime I try to come back from suspend(home button or power button) it freezes
Is this possible on the palm
Is this possible on the palm treo 650 with the HTC bootloader?
