More RAM or not?

Hi guys!
first, sorry my bad english, i will learn english again.

Then, i found in palmpowerups.com a program called PowerDrive and about it..."PowerDrive is an application for PalmOne LifeDrive devices that will allow you to repartition your device to have a bigger RAM area or a bigger internal drive area. It will also allow use of ANY other CF card instead of the original microdrive for size and speed improvements, naturally..."

I think "thats is great!" because, i can increase the storage of my LifeDrive and your RAM, then, increasing the RAM, i can play opie very fast on my Palm and better, but, i think more, i think that incresing RAM of my LifeDrive i can developer a better opie, or other system more faster and modern! with X, kernel, gtk, in short, a complet linux OS in my palm!
thankx for response, and sorry if i'm wrong.
sorry my english again.

This most likely won't help

This most likely won't help your performance in Linux as it's a program for PalmOS and is based around how PalmOS handles the RAM it has.

Palms such as the TX have about enough RAM to run linux with GPE as it is - linux gives everything full access to the 32mb of RAM that palm happens to have.

Only way to 'add' more RAM to your Palm inside of Linux is to use swap - and it never seems to use very much of the swap anyway (700kb on my 16mb swap partition on my SD card :\ ) - apparently swap tends to slow stuff down.

The swap is slowly, not a

The swap is slowly, not a solution.
Ok, but i have to disagree about you said.
I think that Linux will see the new size of RAM. Because i have read that the RAM of the palm LifeDrive is whithin of microdrive, in a partition. Then increasing the RAM partition, lets increasing the RAM, and is not for palm session, because, if your change the physical partition in microdrive (the engineers of webiset palmpowerups.com advise make it in Compact Flash Card, not in microdrive), than, the partition exist in Linux. Whatever the case, i don't have money today to test this program. Thanks a lot for yours answer guys!

It wouldn't help you. LD has

It wouldn't help you. LD has RAM memory (32MB). PalmOS divide it into several heaps - one is used for caching data from microdrive, other one is used for running applications. If you want to use part of your card/microdrive as "RAM" it's called swaping ;-) I think that they just call storage heap (where application and data are stored) on microdrive RAM, so that's the source of confusing ;-)
